MAY SECOND OFFERING BENEFITS CAMP SEQUANOTA

As part of our continued outreach program, FELC makes a charitable contribution to a worthy endeavor on a monthly basis. One of these twelve organizations receives a $200 check each month from the second offering.
Sequanota is a year-round, Christian-based retreat center and camp, located in the Laurel Highlands region of south central PA. It hosts retreats, meetings, reunions, special events, banquets and training workshops. In the summer, it provides Christian camping for families and youth, grades K-12. Sponsorships are available for those with financial need.

Worship Assistants

There are many opportunities for members to participate in our worship experience.

  • Greeters: Greeters welcome and greet attendees as they arrive for worship and provide them with worship material and seating assistance.
  • Acolytes and Crucifers: This is a great opportunity for teen members to serve. These young people play an important part in assisting with offerings and Holy Communion.
  • Liturgical Assistants: This role assists the Pastor during worship and includes the role of cantor and assisting with the distribution of Holy Communion. Liturgical Assistants are assigned on a rotating basis, usually once a month.
  • Ushers: Ushers facilitate the offering and assist with communion.
  • Communion Assistant: This role includes receiving the communion elements, setting up the altar for the pastor, and assisting in the distribution of communion.
  • Eucharistic Assistants: Distribute consecrated wine to the attendees during the communion service.
  • Sound System Operators: An upgraded sound system was installed in the sanctuary in 2018. The system requires trained volunteer operators on a rotating basis. The sound system is used for worship services, weddings, funerals, and community concerts hosted by FELC.
