Circle Of Hope

Making a Difference in Our Community

The Circle of Hope was formed in February 1997.  The mission of the Circle is to be an active outreach group to help those in need in our local community and beyond.  In sharing our time and talents, we also hope to foster fellowship among our members and have fun doing so.

What We Do:

We host a variety of fundraising events throughout the year, including:

  • Backpacks: We gather school supplies and make drawstring backpacks for Lutheran World Relief to send overseas.
  • Backpacks for Hope: We collect items to fill backpacks for the homeless in our area.
  • Harvest Home Collections: During the month of October, parishioners bring non-perishable food to church.  The Circle then coordinates the donations with monetary gifts, and all are delivered to the local food bank, soup kitchens and non-profit nursing homes.
  • Purchase Holiday Flowers for Shut-ins:  Delivering flowers brings joy and cheer to those who may be isolated during the holidays.
  • Support Local Organizations: We actively support several local organizations, including:
    • The Altoona Food Bank: Providing critical food assistance to those in need.
    • Domestic Abuse Shelters: Offering support and resources to victims of domestic violence.
    • Altoona Family Shelter: Prepare and serve free meals.
    • Hope Drop-In Center: Prepare and serve free meals.

Join Us.  All are welcome!

Membership in our church community is not a requirement to join the Circle. Experience the joy of giving back to your community.

The Circle of Hope meets on the second Saturday of each month at 11:00 AM in the church conference room (street level).
